A survey of 2438 dementia-free elderly participants underwent neuropsychological testing as part of the NEDICES study. The study adjusted for age and education. The study found that patients with Parkinson's and essential tremor had poorer cognition than controls. This is why it is very important to do everything possible to improve brain health. That means exercising (to stimulate neuron growth), eating brain-healthy foods that include healthy fats and several servings of fruits and vegetables, avoiding environmental toxins, reducing stress, and getting a good night's sleep.
